I had a student friend hook me up with an academic price (~$115 IIRC) copy back when it was still Movie Magic Screenwriter 2000 and when they updated to version 6, it was something like $25-35 to bump up. So great! I did end up upgrading my MM when I got a new computer, but the tech support & customer service were top notch.

I was having issues with MM when I switched operating systems, and after I declined upgrading the tech support walked me through, step by step, how to manually open MM to bypass the issues I was having. They really know what they're doing, and they're not money hungry. So if I didn't catch it there would talking scenery lolĪnd a major benefit to MM is that their customer service is fantastic. Like it moved the scene headings so that the scene heading was placed as a character name, and the description as dialogue. The only issues I had with MM was when I uploaded scripts from a different program the formatting could get messed up. I like the look of FD, but MM I think is easier to use. It converts files to pdf, the formatting looks great in hard copy, and there are decent sample templates if you need them.
I like both programs, but overall I have a preference for Movie Magic.įinal Draft does have some added frills over MM, but if price is a concern MM will more than get the job done.
